David L. Daniels
Vice President of Finance
David L. Daniels*, a graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago, joined the Hammond Agency in 1990 after retiring from a distinguished career in the United States Navy. David is a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table**, which puts him in the top 6% of insurance professionals worldwide. He is also a member in good standing of the Northern Virginia Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
One of David's key roles is negotiating rates and contracts with our vendors on behalf of our clients. David won't stop until he is convinced we have the best rate and the best contractual provisions that can be obtained. This is an ongoing process for our existing customers as well as for potential new clients.
David also frequently comes to the table with creative ideas. If there is a better way, David will work with the vendors to develop solutions that make sense. Our long-term satisfied customer base and customer retention rate are a testament to David's ability to pull out the best rates and contractual provisions from our partner vendors.
David enjoys walking in his spare time and can be seen almost daily logging somewhere between 4 and 8 miles on Merrifield's walking trails. He is also known as "The Rare Old Timer" and sings and plays the guitar. He has played at The Lost Dog Cafe and drops in at various open mics in the area. You can find his live concerts on YouTube. He is a huge sports enthusiast for all of the D.C. sports teams, especially football and baseball. David lives in Merrifield with his wife. He has four children and six grandchildren.
